About James Magee Photography
I’m James Magee, the owner and principal photographer for James Magee Photography. I provide architectural photography and videography for residential and commercial properties. I also am a portrait photographer and videographer and have worked on several TV shows and commercials.
I started taking drone photos as a side hustle in 2016 to give me something to do on my days off of work as an airline pilot. I would have never guessed that real estate photography could provide me with so many opportunities.
Today, it is so important for agents to brand themselves with content that promotes themselves as well as their listings. Now, I am able to show the value of professionally produced work to replace the typical self-created content that had become a staple for early adopters.
I usually work in the North Dallas area, although I travel throughout Texas for commercial clients.

At James Magee Photography, my average customer is an agent who has only done the minimum in terms of marketing or who has used a big discount firm and wants better photos. They not only want beautiful photos and videos but also see the value in branding themselves.
One aspect that makes me second to none is I work with clients to teach them the value of personal branding and how extraordinary photos will get them noticed quickly.
What sets me apart from the rest of my competitors is I am a one-stop shop for residential and commercial photography. I provide interior and exterior photos, drone photos, 360-degree tours, and floor plans. I also have a network of talented photographers and videographers who are always available to cover any project.
One of my biggest achievements was a million-dollar home that sold twice in two years. Before the renovation, it sold for 2.5 million, and after, it sold for 5 million dollars. In both cases, I provided photos and cinematic videos to the realtor.
My plan is for this business to grow to fill in my spare time as an airline pilot and continue past my mandatory retirement. There are dozens of photographers in the area that are focused on providing the lowest price. I want to be seen as a photographer that delivers high-quality content on time and is able to meet a variety of budgets.
